Healthy and Safe New Year

I talked a little bit about weight loss and exercise in yesterday’s post and it is an important part of my family’s and my life. I am happy when the kids are active, my husband is exercising and learning to ski so I know they are set. I need to worry about me! My weight loss has been great, with a total loss of 35 pounds in 7 months but it seems to have reached a plateau, where I can’t seem to loose any more, and I still have 20 pounds to my goal weight. So, my focus has shifted to exercise. I have just started Zumba and I am loving it, I love dancing and to me there is no better way to get my exercise in. I have a few other ways to exercise as well and it is very important to me that I stay on this track.

As far as my family as a whole, we have started eating healthier, we cut out the sugar drinks, snack foods and have started eating more vegetables and better meals. One thing that has been a plus about moving to Montana is that where i am there is no fast food places, so temptation is removed completely. So far this year we have been able to stick to our resolutions to lose weight and get fit, individually and as a whole family and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

    I definately have made a change for the better starting about 6 months ago. I eat alot of fish & chicken, cut out all of the white, processed food and limited sugar intake to a small snack once a week or so. Lots of veggies, fruits and protein smoothies. I have lost 15lbs so I feel alot better. Can you tell I have been watching Dr. Oz? lol Thank you!
