AC/DC The Wine Launches in the US
The band AC/DC have teamed up with Australian winery Warburn Estate to release a range of AC/DC wines. Already a huge hit in Australia, the legendary rock band is poised to once again conquer the US market with a selection of four rock’ n’ roll wines, named after four of their unforgettable songs:
- Back in Black Shiraz
- Highway to Hell Cabernet Sauvignon
- Thunderstruck Chardonnay
- Hells Bells Sauvignon Blanc
AC/DC The Wine is currently on sale at www.vinport.com/acdcwines and soon the wines will also be available through select national, regional and local outlets including featured Total Wine and More locations. Suggested retail price is $17.99.
I was recently able to serve two of their new wines, Back in Black Shiraz and Hells Bells Sauvignon Blanc, at a steak dinner for friends and they were a hit! But that is not surprising from one of my favorite rock and roll bands of all time! While both of these wines were great each one of us had a favorite of the night that was pretty much based on what we were in the mood for. For me it was the Sauvignon Blanc…
I wanted to give a lighter wine a try with our meal and the Hells Bells Sauvignon Blanc was a great match. Crisp and fruity the tastes blended well with our starter salads and was a hit among three of the six people at the meal based solely on what we felt in the mood for, the other three also tasted Hells Bells and all three said that they liked the light tastes that were bold at the same time, with a kiss of fruit.
For the red wine lovers of the group (of which I am definitely one) the Back in Black Shiraz was a great match with their steaks. The spicy, berry flavors blended well together and really stood out as a bold wine. Those of us that drank the Sauvignon Blanc tried out the Shiraz and we all liked it and for me will definitely be a wine that I would like to keep handy to share and even enjoy solo.
The new line of AC/DC wines are very good indeed and great for gatherings with your friends. I am definitely going to try the two other wines, Highway to Hell Cabernet Sauvignon and Thunderstruck Chardonnay as soon as I can, those two may become my favorites brand of my favorite wines, especially if they taste anything like the two we tried this past weekend! Before my dinner guests left I asked if they would recommend AC/DC Wines to their friends and family and every one of them said “Hell yeah!” I think they liked the wines I know I did!!!
I was provided the two wines I served to gain knowledge of the brand for this post.
