The Alphabetimals are a grassroots project started by my wife, a psychologist, and I, an illustrator, to share the gift of literacy here at home and around the world. The Alphabetimals, which combine animals with letter shapes in a unique way to make learning both of them easier and more fun.
My daughter loves her new shirt and when we go out she is sure to tell anyone who listens that her name is on her shirt made out of animals. I love watching her point to each animal and say what they are and when she gets to the G of her name she gets excited because she loves giraffes! I love that the shirt has helped her identify the letters that form her name and in return has taught her how to spell it. Now when she isn’t wearing the shirt I can ask her how to spell her name and she gets the A-B-I-G part right.
