Baby’s Binky Box | Book Review

Baby and Binky are best friends and share all kinds of fun times together. But Binky needs to rest. Will baby and mommy find a way to help Binky?

“Baby’s Binky Box was created out of desperation. I couldn’t find any books to read to my 18 month old son that would teach him how to give up his beloved binky (pacifier). His two favorite things in the world were reading, and his binky. My hubby and I had heard the horror stories about how difficult it is for a child to give up the binky. There are books out there that tell parents how and when to take the binky away from the child but nothing that helps a child give up this habit on their own. I went to book stores, searched online and found nothing. There are gazillions of books about potty training, new teeth, and bad behavior, but nothing for children about binkys. I was so frustrated that I decided to write a story based on my own experience.

Being a parent has changed the way I view everything. I am lucky as a working mom to have a job that allows me the flexibility to work my schedule around my children.  Seeing the world from their eyes has allowed to me write books that I know my children can relate to. I have never understood why we sing our children songs about babies falling from a bough in a cradle, or ring around the rosie… isn’t that about children with the plague? My books are educational, gentle and fun. They empower children instead of terrifying them. I am so lucky that I have found another passion in life besides having children and that is writing. I hope that my books can inspire your children the way they have inspired mine.

The “binky dilemma” was one of the hardest things I have gone through with my last child, I really wish I knew of this book back then. I do recommend it to all parents who are trying to wean their child from the pacifier as it lets them know directly that it will all be okay. I passed my copy on to a friend who is going through this right now and so far with one box it is working.
