I don’t know about you, but my least, no, let me try that again…my LEAST favorite cleaning chore is the bathrooms. The dirt, grime and the hair that clogs the drains is a chore within a chore. But I have found (they found me)the best cleaning tools for this dirty job. 3M has a line of bathroom tools that actually make this on chore a breeze and now that I have found them I will always have sparkling bathrooms. The line includes:

  • Portable Plunger & Holder which are designed to contain the mess and is portable, which when it arrived we needed as we were down to one and it was a pain to transfer it from bathroom to bathroom.
  • Upturned Bristles Toilet Bowl Brush & Holder which is designed to clean where other brushes can’t reach. I LOVE this brush! Nothing aggravates me more than when I use to give the toilet bowl a good scrubbing, even under the rim at odd angles, only to step away and see all the crud that the other brush missed under the rim. Doesn’t look very good at all, but now I don’t have that problem because this brush does what it says it does and get under the rim as sparkly as the rest of the toilet!
  • Grout & Detail Tool is the perfect brush for the shower tiles. It gets in those grooves and gets them clean. It has very stiff bristles which don’t give when pressure is applied and gets the grout clean. This brush is amazing and I am so glad that I have it!
  • Comfort Grip Scrub Brush has two levels of bristles, one to remove the dirt, and one to get the toughest dirt up and out of your bathroom.

With these tools at my disposal cleaning the bathrooms has gotten much, much easier. I spend less time in the bathroom on my knees scrubbing the tiles which gets the chore done quicker. These tools have been so great in fact that my oldest daughter is pleased that her cleaning time in her bathroom is cut in half, because we all know that teenagers hate to clean! I seriously hear less amount of sighing from her now that she has these tools to use :) And I have the proof, I snuck up on her when she was cleaning her bathroom, behold the elusive teenager cleaning…

get a long scrub brush to scrub the bathtub, that way you don’t have to bend over it, especially if you have a large garden tub.

  4. Charlotte says:

Toilet: I take about 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of liquid detergent & 1/2 cup of water, and mix them together in a small bucket. Dab your toilet brush in the solution and start scrubbing. Flush a couple times. Gets rid of any rings you might have, and leaves a clean toilet.

Shower Door: Dip sponge in pure white vinegar and start wiping. This will remove water spots and streaks.

Mirrors: Use a damp cloth to coat all your mirrors/windows with glass cleaner. Let it dry, then spray again with a fresh coat. Wipe down with a dry cloth. This will eliminate streaks, and eliminate the dust/lint particles left behind.
