In Comfort Living as well as in life, “less” can be so much more. The book is as much about what is in it, as what isn’t. Every detail of this book – from the copy, pictures and layout, to the size, format and length – is geared to making the path to a more balanced lifestyle simple, straightforward and accessible. Home can be as simple as looking inward and realizing, “There’s no place like home.”
An excerpt from page 7:
“In these demanding times, many people are yearning for a way to find more balance and meaning in life…With simple tools and do-able steps, Comfort Living will guide you in creating a home that transforms the way you experience each day. Just as comfort food does more than satisfy hunger, Comfort Living realigns your surroundings so that they support your priorities and feed your soul.
- If you’re searching for your keys in the morning instead of sitting down for breakfast, this book is for you.
- If you envy the cozy nooks you see in catalogs and magazines but don’t have a clue about how to create your own, this book is for you.
- If you already enjoy fixing up your home with fabrics and furnishings but wonder if the look reflects who you truly are, this book is for you.
- If you are not able to enjoy your “decorated” home as much as you thought you would, this book is for you.
- If you simply want to make your house more of a home – a place that revives you each day – this book is definitely for you!”

Christine Eisner, a designer, consultant and writer, has shared her unique creative vision with thousands of people, including corporate professionals, interior designers, real estate agents, stay-at-homemakers, empty-nesters, design students, and teens. Her goal is to offer guidance and practical tools for creating living spaces and routines that reflect inner priorities and promote quality of life.
This book is a definite must read to anyone who is seeking a little more order and what I would call normalcy in their lives. I have always tried to make things mesh in my home and am usually left wondering if what I did looks good to others and more than once I have tried to take something from a magazine and create that in my home, but for some reason those projects never turn out like they do in the pictures, through my own doing of course. Comfort Living has helped me get on the right track for the comfy home feeling I am missing. I recommend it to everyone as it has really helped me and my family.
