Spicy Tropical Shrimp Boats

The great thing about this cookbook is that it has so many great, easy meals for busy moms who are on the go among others. And where else can you find a cookbook that specifically uses Trader Joe’s products? These very products make flavorful meals that can be made quickly. The cookbook shows how to make the most of Trader Joe’s “prep kitchen” items, including specialty sauces, dips, prepped vegetables, and pre-marinated meats. The recipes, like Zesty Shrimp and Scallops on Greens are a healthy alternative to take-out or fast food and almost as easy. Gunn and Miniati stand firm that you can put a homemade gourmet dinner on the table in minutes, without sacrificing flavor or quality.

Authors

We’re Deana Gunn and Wona Miniati. We love good food, we love to cook, and we love Trader Joe’s. Over time, we found ourselves wishing that Trader Joe’s had a cookbook to go with all their fabulous products. What do you do with quinoa? How do you use tapenade? What goes well with ricotta-stuffed chicken? Before we knew it, we were writing a cookbook. We grew up in homes where cooking was all-important and meals were always shared at an inviting family table. Given our international backgrounds, we were exposed to various ethnic and American styles of cooking. We met 18 years ago while studying engineering in Boston, and our exposure to food continued to grow, whether it was the spicy Dun Dun noodles at the local hole-in-the-wall Central Square Chinese restaurant or the amazing paella and sangria in Harvard Square. Unfortunately there are no Trader Joe’s in Florida, thankfully I have a friend in Illinois who sends me stuff from Trader Joe’s all the time, and now I can have a shopping list to send her so I can make these delicious looking recipes. I have already sent her a recipe or two to try for herself, and she loves what she has made. One of my favorite things about cookbooks is finding new recipes and trying things I haven’t tried before. This book is amazing in the fact that everything is a Trader Joe’s product and what a way to present those products! I recommend everyone that has a Trader Joe’s nearby go out and get this book today! You can find it on Amazon. You will be happy you did.

I go to Traders twice a week, more if I am catering. It is my source for fresh unique items as well as good priced every day ingredients. The staff is friendly and helpful, stores are clean and stocked.
The cookbook is a good idea, expanding their market without losing that small business feel an even better one.
They get my #1 store vote!
