I had so much fun on my recent trip to Minneapolis to attend the General Mills Eat & Greet. It all went by so very fast and I learned so much. My only regret was there were so many wonderful bloggers I didn’t get a chance to talk to, so keeping my fingers crossed to maybe meet them another time.

Mill City Museum

My flight landed late so I was picked up and taken straight to cocktails and dinner at the beautiful Mill City Museum. And I have to say that as I have gotten older I have become more interested in the history of our country and having dinner at the museum provided me with a chance to learn the history of the flour milling industry, which was very interesting indeed. I was even able to catch a showing of “Minneapolis In 19 Minutes Flat”, and learn about the city I was visiting.

Right before dinner we had a chance to go up to the Observation Deck and really see this magnificent city and it took my breath away.

After dinner we were all taken back to the hotel where I promptly went to sleep so I would be ready for the whirlwind day that was coming up next.

General Mills Corporate Headquarters

When we arrived at General Mills I was amazed at how big their campus was. I say campus because it is as large as a college campus if not bigger. I loved all the trees, water and grass everywhere. It was all so beautiful. And the inside was just as amazing. Just walking down the hall you can get a history lesson of General Mills and I could have spent all day just looking at all the pictures and display cases.

We toured the Photography Studios, their own in house studio where they take all their photos of the food for print ads as well as others. We also got to tour their prop room and got a chance to see all the bowls, plates and silverware they use in their photos, can I just mention that I was in heaven and wish I had all that at my disposal when I host a party!

The Betty Crocker Kitchens were absolutely AMAZING!!!!! We had the opportunity to try out new foods not on the market yet (and let me tell you they are yummy!), learn about their products, like did you know that Chex cereal now comes in a Gluten Free line as well as the original line? I was excited to hear that and share the news with my sister who has used a gluten free diet with my nephew who is Autistic. And the woman who took the time to explain all the information to me was simply wonderful and very kind (and I am suck a dork I forgot to get her name, apologies).

After all the tours we had a wonderful lunch and I got the chance to get to know a few bloggers I had not previously know and we all had some really great conversations. This trip was amazing and one I won’t soon forget. I am honored that I was included and so very thankful for the opportunity, the welcome bags, the drinks and dinner at the museum and the chance to get a behind the scenes look at a great company.  And before I go I want to share with you one of the most amazing things I learned about General Mills. See I thought that they only had a small amount of brands, but boy was I wrong! I want you to check here and see everything that General Mills makes and if you feel like it please leave a comment on this post about the most shocking brand to you. I am just amazed by all they cover.

A huge thank you to General Mills and everyone involved in this amazing experience and the great women from Coyne PR, I truly appreciate being included in the event and thank you for the opportunity to learn  more about General Mills. This sign really made my trip complete, I loved being a part of the Eat & Greet!
