Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits

The makers of Guitar Hero introduced Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits for the Nintendo DS system, a follow-up to the On Tour and Decades games previously released. The game features 28 songs, all radio-edits of modern rock hits from bands including Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, Weezer, The Strokes and Wolfmother. Besides being able to take the game on the road, the Nintendo DS has a wireless feature that allows song streaming and multi-player modes. Imagine all of the kids in the backseat of your car entertaining themselves and challenging each other!

My kids were so excited when this game came in the mail. What they didn’t know was how excited my husband and I were too. We are a big family of gamers and the competition runs fierce here, but it is a fun, friendly competition. We love trying new games especially the multi-player ones where we all get to enjoy it, and the Guitar Hero series is definitely one of those games.

Whats even better than one Guitar Hero Game? Two Guitar Hero games. Were were ecstatic to also receive the Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades release of this game, especially me, stuck in my old school music ways, so I could get down and dirty with my kids, who by the way couldn’t keep up with me….hey I can dream can’t I?

The music on both of these games was some pretty awesome music and the game play is so much fun. It took me a few minutes to get used to how you have to hold the DS when playing, but after that I was flying through the songs. The multi-player modes are great and they feature song streaming and song sharing, which my older two kids really got into and became so competitive at that they couldn’t finish the round because they were laughing so hard (they perform while they play, lol, talk about multi-tasking). But they could share the songs on their DS with each other so they could both compete on the same song. I love that feature.

The Guitar Hero series is truly a fun game and it can be enjoyed by the whole family. We had so much fun playing it and we thank Mom Central for expanding our gaming experience with these two games.
