Human Body Detectives | Review and Giveaway

The idea for the Human Body Detectives (HBD) audiobook and workbook series came about when I realized that if kids understand how the food they eat plays a direct role in how their bodies function, they will be more inclined to make healthy food choices.
As a naturopathic doctor and a mother, I continually search for books and resources that provide healthy eating tips and encourage parents to make healthy food choices for kids, and more importantly, encourage kids to make healthy food and lifestyle choices for themselves. I discovered there were very few books out there promoting kids’ health in a fun way, and none designed to teach kids about health by focusing on the specific body systems.
My daughter who is in 5th grade in homeschool this year loved learning about the digestive system. She has been learning about each system of the body toward the end of 4th and the beginning of his year, so when I was asked to review the Human Body Detectives I was thrilled as it was one I hadn’t covered yet.
This activity-filled workbook complements the educational adventure audio story, The Lucky Escape. The audio story and activity workbook are geared to serve as a tool for families, teachers and parents of home-schooled children, to supplement science current and/or health curricula and share knowledge about the digestive system.
• Learn more about the digestive system
• Puzzles, games and more that “bring the story to life!”
• Great for elementary aged children
She loved learning the facts and has even gone as far as sharing that with her younger sister. As she was doing her work she also taught her and it was so great to see that. She even rewarded her with a sticker of the little baby that comes with the book. I personally think that this was a great way to teach her about the digestive system, she seemed more into learning with an audio story and workbook than me talking to her about it. I loved using this as a teaching tool and my daughter loved it.
I have an extra Human Body Detectives workbook which, comes with the audio CD, to giveaway to one Dirty Shirt reader so they can share it with their child. If you would like to win it please see rules below…

This would be perfect for my 2 nieces, Emma 10 & Annabelle 6 so I would definately give this to their mom to share with them. Their mom has alway’s struggled with her weight and she also just had the lapband surgical procedure done to help her lose weight so this would be good for all of them. Thank you for the opportunity!
