I have a 17 Year Old!!!!

I am always amazed at how fast time moves. Every time I want it to slow down so I can savor every moment, every sight, every smell it just moves right past me. I am one of those people who have a hard time dealing with getting older, you know, in a way I want to be here forever…of course the way I am now, not older. And today marks a day when I do feel a tad bit older…I now have a 17 year old son. He went from being my little baby boy who needed me and held on to me to being a 17 year old man, almost an adult, who needs me less, has a girlfriend he hangs out with more than me and doesn’t want to be held anymore. At this moment I can’t find my disc with his baby pictures but here is my little boy then and now…

I am sad that his youth is gone, scared for his future but I do know one thing. I did the best I could possibly do raising him. Thankfully he turned out better than I was at 17, and I know that I have done my best to protect him and minus a few skateboard and bike accidents and a broken arm playing football he has survived. I dislike that I have to let go and let him spread his wings but I know the time is right. I don’t have to like it though……

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERFUL SON!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!

Awww! I know what you mean. My oldest will be 13 in 10 days. I am not looking forward to the teenage years at all!

So crazy how fast life goes by. I still can’t wrap my brain around the fact I have a high school graduate. How did that happen? Now my littlest guy is 6. I want my babies back…occasionally. :) So often wish I had done things differently and still do to try and preserve these years!

    Happy bday to your baby!

Awww! Happy Birthday wishes to him! He is a very handsome young man. My oldest child is 16 – it just doesn’t seem possible. Time goes by so quickly, doesn’t it.

I can well imagine what you must be feeling right now. It seems only yesterday that I was suffering the same mixed feelings about my children growing up. Then before I knew it, they were bringing me a whole new generation of children to love and nurture and these kids usually go home at the end of the day so it never gets old. Congratulations to you both!

  9. Happy Birthday to your son! This is a wonderful milestone for you as a mother and it’s great to hear you say that you have done well with him. I don’t always hear this.

I cannot imagine this as yet. I want to stop time :)

That must seem so crazy. Where did the time go. Mine are much younger but I know how fast it goes.

Happy Belated Birthday to your son.
