Just In Time For The Holidays | Recipes

With the time of year here that I spend countless hours with the baking, creating and cooking I thought I would share some of the recipes that will be at my holiday gatherings. There are some tasty things here for kids and adults. Enjoy!

Frosty the Snow Pancake

Ingredients:

  • 3 Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes
  • Cool Whip
  • 5 pieces of black licorice
  • 2 green M&M’s
  • 3 red M&M’s
  • 1 orange gumdrop
  • 5 mini chocolate chips
  • Circle-shaped cookie cutter

Directions:

  1. Heat up 3Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes
  2. Use a cookie cutter to cut one pancake into a smaller circle for the snowman’s head
  3. Cut another pancake into a hat shape
  4. Place the third pancake as the body of the snowman
  5. Spread Cool Whip over the head and body of the snowman
  6. Cut up pieces of black licorice for the hat and arms
  7. Lay the licorice pieces over the hat shaped pancake and place the other pieces on both sides of the large pancake for the arms
  8. Add 2 green M&M’s for the eyes
  9. Add 3 red M&M’s for the buttons going down the middle of the larger pancake
  10. Cut an orange gumdrop in half and lay sticky side down for the nose
  11. Place five mini chocolate chips for the mouth

LENDER’S BAGEL BRUSCHETTACreated by Kosher cooking expert Joy Devor of Far Rockaway, New York
Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 6  Lender’s® Bagels
  • 2 tbsp.   Olive oil
  • 3 cloves  Garlic, crushed
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • 6  Plum tomatoes, chopped
  • 1  Red onion, diced
  • ¼ cup Olive oil
  • ¼ cup Basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp.  Balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¾ cup Shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)

Directions: Preheat oven to 400˚. Scoop out insides of bagels and cube the scooped out middle. Spread cubed pieces onto baking sheet and drizzle olive oil, garlic and salt evenly. Bake for 10 minutes or until toasted and light brown. In medium bowl, combine tomatoes, onion, salt, pepper and vinegar. Toast outside of bagels lightly. Right before serving, combine the croutons (cubed bagel pieces) with the tomato mixture and pour into bagel shells. *Optional: sprinkle cheese over bagels on baking sheet and place in oven for 5 minutes until cheese melts.

DIRTY PICKLE VODKA MARTINI

Whether at a holiday work party or in the comfort of your own home, this tasty drink will bring the party to life

Ingredients:
8 ounces Vodka (use your favorite)
½ teaspoon dry Vermouth
2 Vlasic® Kosher Dill Pickle Spears
1 tbsp. pickle juice (from the jar)

Directions:
Add ice about halfway up a cocktail shaker. Add vodka, vermouth and pickle juice. Shake well, pour into 2 Martini glasses and garnish with a pickle spear in each glass.
