CaroLYN and CaroLINE not only share the two first syllables of their names but also a desire to create fun, imaginative gifts to entertain their nephews and nieces. Inspired by a passion for bright colors, food, art, technology, and all things cute, they formed Lyn And Line.

Lyn And Line’s first product is The Rescue of Ginger, a mobile interactive storybook application for the iPhone and Android platforms designed for kids ages 2 to 5 years old. Distressed Mrs. Applebottom can’t find her cat Ginger. Two best friends, Madera Monkey and Figaro Frog, along with their silly mouse friends, jump into action to help save the day. Working as the superheroes, Carbon Girl and Adhero, the two best friends use their super powers and inquisitive personalities to unravel the clues. With your child’s help, they find Ginger and bring her back home.

My Thoughts

My toddler absolutely loved this app and I can tell you why right off the bat. The images were highly interactive. This is not a story where you just see one image and read some words. There are quite a few things that you can touch and have an interaction with, like touching a ball and having a mouse jump up and down on it and a frog who puts a magnifying glass up to his eye to see you. The one she laughed at was a mouse being flown away on a kite. She loved The Rescue of Ginger which in turn makes me love it because I know she not only enjoyed it but she learned how to follow along, about interacting with her surroundings and she laughed her laugh that lets me know she is enjoying herself. I love things that can bring that laugh out in her. I recommend The Rescue of Ginger to everyone!
