“MyPerennial began as a happy accident. A tired sweater needed a pick-me-up. Felt revived it. With a bold new garden perched upon my shoulder, I bounced around the streets of New York City to and from work as a public schoolteacher. I received compliments. I grinned. A woman asked to buy it. I blushed.

Soon after relaying this story to a stylish colleague, she staged an intervention. At dinner on the Upper West Side, she encouraged me to create scarves and hair accessories for our school’s winter fair. Kids notoriously know what’s good. They always choose the sparkly-est sticker or the gooey-est cupcake; so why not the softest scarf or the cutest hat?

By day I taught elementary school science. By night I cut, sewed, and created one-of-a-kind pieces to deck out a card table in our school cafeteria. I wore my sweater. By the time those Tribeca moms and kids were done with me, I was surprised to find I’d sold out of nearly everything. After five years of steady successes, the line has grown perhaps as fast as the line of people plucking their preferred MyPerennial products. After features in magazines such as “InStyle”, “Real Simple” and on “DailyCandy”, the demand is smoothly soaring.”

We beg to ask how these could be cuter?! Our kids tees come with two fun felt animals so your darlings can make their own fashion decisions! Each silly animal is backed with a chunky snap so little fingers can snap and unsnap their way to style satisfaction…and when the day’s done, just unsnap and pop the tees in the wash! Unisex long-sleeved and short-sleeved tees are available in red, light blue, pink, navy blue and white with your choice of two snaps. Sizes 2, 4 and 6 – note that American Apparel tees tend to run a bit small.

As a happy side note, we are proud to continue making safe and adorable apparel for children. All of the components used in our children’s items are tested and CPSC / CPSIA compliant.

My Thoughts

This is a very clever idea for children! I love that you can change the design literally with a snap. My daughter got a white shirt with a owl snap (shown on the left) and she loves it! The shirt fit is comfortable and there is quite a selection of different snaps that you can interchange. Her favorites are the Ladybug, Pig and Panda Bear.
