Our inspiration is our children. As parents, we are always on the lookout for quality, locally made, funky toys, while still getting a good value for your money.
Pamela (Mother of Zoe) comes from an Interactive Design/Graphic design background. After working in the industry for over 14 years, she began her own interactive design business. Now, she focuses most of her time on the website. In her spare time, she is designing, making, buying, and selling toys!
Stacy (Mother of Nico) has an education and retail background. Stacy worked in the retail toy business for three years, and as a teacher for the past ten years. In her spare time, she is buying, selling, and boxing up toys!
About three years ago, Pam had the idea to make soft dolls. Stacy wanted to do something new. Thus came the idea for Zoe Babies and Nico & Zoe. Now, we are working hard to bring the best toys to you!
Crayon Rocks are easy to hold, encourage a proper pencil grip and develop fine motor skills. These soy crayons create beautifully textured drawings. Made of soy wax, so they go on smoothly, like pastels or paint. Kids love them too!
You get 16 Crayon Rocks stored in a 4″ square box, protected by a sliding clear cover. Made in: La Crescenta, CA – USA
I recently got the chance to review the crayon rocks and two things I noticed right away were, one, they were easy for my toddler to hold (with supervision of course) and two she actually took care of them. See when we go out on walks she collects rocks and we bring them home and check them out. She puts them in a little box and takes care of them. That is what she has done with her crayon rocks. She is keeping them safe. Funny thing is she now tries to color with regular rocks. I love these crayons and plan on having some available to my daughter throughout her creative years! I recommend them to everyone.
The wonderful people at Nico & Zoe have offered a set of Crayon Rocks for one of The Dirty Shirt readers. See rules below to enter today…

This question is very difficult to answer. I have 7 children and I have at least 1 favorite of each. Our oldest is 28 and an artist so there are many of his. I loved his painting of a wooded area near our home. Our yougest is 5 and is just beginning to get the hang of it! He recently made a Father’s Day card for my husband. It had a drawing of my husband with a HUGE tie on. It was definitely cute!

My favorites are those first drawings of people… circles with spider-like limbs and grimaces on their faces!
I have saved so many of my daughters’ drawings. My favorites are the ones of our family…where everyone is holding hands. It’s fun to see how the kids picture us (my husand and I) in their drawings.

My favorite drawing is one of a big heart for me when I was in the hospital and a message for me to get better soon because they miss me and want me home. They both signed it in crayon, they were 5 and 8, I still have it, and they are now 18 and 21.

My 3 yr old daughter drew her impression of me only she gave me one large eye and a few minimal spikey hairs on my head. I always tell her “I have my eye on you!” so maybe she thinks I only have one of them.

My daughter doesn’t really make drawings yet. She just scribbles.
I love when my kids draw pictures of our pets. They really take the time to make it “just right” with the colors of our pets.
A very simple picture of our dog in the backyard. It is mostly green with a little blue sky and a brown spot represents Bashful.

My favorite is a joint drawing from my son and husband of a robot!
My son made an adorable self portrait all the way down to his belly button and glasses!
My 4-year-old granddaughter drew me flying in the night sky with a billowy dress and stars in my hair. I have no idea what inspired that image, but I love it that she sees me that way.
