Nickelodeon Home Entertainment welcomes a new girl on the block with the DVD debut of the hit preschool series, Olivia. The CG Animated Series Hits Stores on August 11th with Four New-to-DVD Adventures.
In Olivia’s self-titled DVD debut, preschoolers will be inspired by her vivid imagination and fantastical adventures OLIVIA features a never seen before episode and three new-to-DVD episodes, along with an exclusive Olivia Photo Gallery introducing Olivia and all her friends.
- Olivia Acts Out – It’s time for the annual school play, but Olivia’s stuck playing the part of “Cow #2,” while Francine lands the starring role. It’s up to Olivia to make the most of her small part. With a little help from Julian, she choreographs a climactic “mooove” for herself and has the crowd on their feet.
- Olivia Plays Piano – Olivia sees herself as a great concert pianist, though her piano teacher thinks she needs a little more practice. But when her little brother Ian begins taking his own piano lessons – and turns out to be pretty good – Olivia isn’t sure if there’s room for two prodigies in the family.
- Olivia Trains Her Cat – When Olivia’s class holds a pet talent show, nobody can beat Francine’s amazingly talented cat Gwendolyn. Olivia’s lethargic cat Edwin, who barely moves, suddenly goes missing. Olivia then fancies herself a cat detective as she tracks down the missing cat.
- Olivia Packs Up – Tired of having to share with her brother Ian, Olivia sets out on a trip around the block in search of a place free from little brothers. She imagines herself crossing a vast desert by camel – which isn’t all it’s cracked up to be – and eventually decides that having a little brother might not be so bad after all.
Olivia is today’s girl. She is a 6¾-year-old dynamo who believes she can do anything and sees every day as an opportunity to try new things. Her vivid imagination takes her on grand adventures, both real and fantasy, and like all children, her antics occasionally result in endearing misadventures. Olivia’s confidence and positive nature inspires kids everywhere to think boldly and follow their dreams.
Although Olivia’s adventures in her imagination are bigger than life, the challenges in her day-to-day life are preschool size. Olivia’s unique ways of dealing with these challenges provide moments of fun and drama. She demonstrates how kids can use their imagination to work out what’s happening in their own world. Kids can relate to Olivia because she experiences the same daily trials and triumphs as they do. Every day is a “Big Day” for Olivia; her exuberance is contagious as she takes viewers along for the ride!
My toddler loves Olivia and the debut on DVD is perfect timing as my daughter’s imagination expands and she is geared up to learn new things. I love the Olivia show because not only does she learn about new things but she is very active in learning everything Olivia does, or tries to anyway. This DVD held my daughter’s attention for the whole hour and a half it was on and is now in her “must play” everyday pile. I recommend this DVD be added to every little girls (and boys) movie library.
