The new 3D stop-motion comedy thriller from animation company LAIKA, reteaming the company with Focus Features after the groundbreaking Academy Award-nominated Coraline. ParaNorman is, following Coraline, the company’s second stop-motion animated feature to be made in 3D.
In ParaNorman, a small town comes under siege by zombies. Who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman (Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he’ll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst, of all, grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits.

ParaNorman, last week! Absolutely loved it; such a visual and conceptual treat. LAIKA (literally) turned the zombie movie genre on its head! Planning on going again this weekend, and if anyone is in the Bay Area, the Cartoon Art Museum is hosting an awesome Art of ParaNorman exhibit (fully open Oct. 6th, but half of it is up now).

‘ParaNorman’ was the last movie I saw in theaters! Well… the last THREE times I visited the movies! Sweet baby Jesus it is an amazing movie. Well done, Laika Studios.
ParaNorman was the last film I saw and that was only yesterday. Some crazy-lame circumstances prevented me from seeing it on opening night but I’m so glad I still go to see it in theaters. I’m absolutely in love with the LAIKA team, they’re trailblazers in US stop-mo.
