Reduce Water Week | Review and Giveaway

What a great company! I love that people are taking notice of our environment and taking steps to make it better. I was recently sent the Water Week product from Reduce to review and I love what this does and doesn’t do, add garbage to our Earth.
I am a big water drinker and constantly drink from plastic water bottles when I am on the go or plastic cups while I am at home. I no longer need to do that with the Water Week system. You can take WaterWeek™ with you wherever go. You just fill them up, place them in your refrigerator (they don’t take up a lot of room) and then take one to go, or even if you just want to stay at home. It is the perfect way to reduce plastic water bottles.
Why reduce the plastic use? Because more than 25 million plastic bottles are thrown away everyday. EVERYDAY! That will take about 1,000 year to biodegreade in landfills.
So using this set of five reusable water bottles makes sense. You can have water AND you help our environment by reducing all the plastic waste.
I love this system and have been using it for the past few weeks and I won’t be going back to plastic bottles again. It is convenient, and eco-friendly and that is my favorite thing about the Water Week by Reduce. When I need something I go to the thrift stores or garage sales. This helps by re-using items so new ones don’t need to be made. It also saves me money…. Thanks for the contest.

Our City ha sstarted a recycling program where they give you a big bin and you can put any recyclables in there and they will pick it up with your regular trash.

I recycle and I try to re-use as many items as possible to avoid waste. I turn off the water while brushing my teeth, turn off lights as I leave a room, don’t leave my cellphone charger plugged in unless I’m charging. I hate buying bottled water because of all the plastic bottles and would love this idea. That way, one is always on hand – they are cute and so great for our environment.
I only use organic/earth friendly cleaning products. We recycle, at least what our local recycling company will allow us to.

We recycle in our house, we use reusable bags at the grocery store and I’m working to use them more at other stores. My sister in law composts and we save all of our organic, compostable materials for the compost pile. We also try to turn off lights and electronics when we are not in the room.

We recycle as much as possible! We use the bins the city gives us and fill them up each week. Sometimes we have to use extra boxes! I am also trying to remember to use my re-usable grocery bags instead of the plastic bags. But, when I do use the plastic bags, I recycle those, too.

We recycle – our bin is usually twice as full as our trash can. We also compost all of our yard waste.

In our home we recycle plastic, glass, paper and aluminum. We try to buy natural, organic and local products when we can. We no longer use cleaning products or soaps which are petroleum based. And we believe in hand me downs!

I work really hard recycling and stopped buying extraneous stuff. If I don’t need it, I don’t get it.

One thing I do for the environment is I seldom use plastic/paper bags. I have a decent collection of reuseable grocery bags that I take with me when I grocery shop. Additionally, I reuse scrap paper! If something is printed on one side that I no longer need, I put a collection of those in a pile and reuse them later on!

We try to use as few ziploc bags as possible and instead use tupperware and use our plastic grocery sacks as many times as possible.

I recycle, and I try to reuse items whenever possible.
I recycle old clothing. If it can’t be passed on to someone else or donated, I use it for crafting. Quilts, dolls, stuffed animals, pot holders & padded book covers can all be made quite nicely with old “useless” clothing. And it’s better than filling up our landfills with more garbage.
I no longer throw away things for the landfill. Instead I offer it for re-use on Freecycle.org.

I try to recycle as much as we possibly can, and use Freecycle for other items that someone else can use. We try to conserve energy by turning off lights/electronic devices when when they’re not in use. And I try to use reuseable bags whenever I go to the grocery.

I have been conserving on electric by using the florescent light bulbs/energy efficient ones, and turning off lights in rooms that we R not in at the time, 2 conserve energy

To help the enviornment we switched to all cfl bulbs and we are switching over to green cleaning products ( we have some non-green ones we are using up not to waste money but all the new ones are green)

We do laundry in cold water then hang cloths outside on cloths line to dry. We take cooler showers, we recycle, we reuse, we don’t abuse our enviroment

I’ve been using tote bags as reuseable grocery bags since 1988. We were US Army stationed in England and their grocery stores would charge you 2 pence (4 cents) for every plastic bag you needed. I quickly adopted the British custom of bringing tote bags and never stopped. For a family of 4 over 2 decades, that’s a huge mountain of plastic/paper bags not required. If Americans had to pay for every bag needed, habits would really change here.

For my kids birthday parties, I no longer buy paper plate and cup party sets. I buy plastic plates and cups for each child to take home with them and reuse.
