RhodeSoft was started by husband and wife team Toni and Jacob Rhodes. Their son Graham and dog Einstein contribute to the venture on a regular basis. Toni has a master’s degree in education and was a kindergarten teacher for many years. She is currently an educational writer. Jacob is a research engineer at the Georgia Institute of Technology and has a master’s degree in film and video.
“Lula’s Brew” is a children’s book written and illustrated by award-winning author Elizabeth O. Dulemba. Her most recent book, as author and illustrator, is “Soap, Soap, Soap (Jabón, Jabón, Jabón).” Now, she’s brought her magic to the iPhone and iPod Touch!
As the reader swipes the pages, Elizabeth brings the story to life on the voice track.
About the story:
Lula’s Aunties want her to be a witch just like them. But Lula hates to fly on a broom and prefers to study cookbooks rather than spellbooks — she wants to be a famous chef. In desperation, the Aunties insist she try to make one last potion. Lula secretly adds her cooking flair and in true witchy fashion ends up creating a brew that bewitches the entire town, and maybe her Aunties too!
My daughters both loved this story about Lula and her wanting to be a chef. The rhyming words and the pace of the story are fun to zip right along. My favorite things about Lula’s Brew is that I can put it on for my toddler and it can be read to her by the author and all she has to do is swipe her finger across when the words stop, something that she has gotten quite good at. I recommend checking out Lula’s Brew on iTunes today it is a cute story and children really enjoy it.
