Halloween Spooktacular

Sea World has been a huge part of my life, especially for the last 16 years. I remember taking my son to see the sharks and watch all the wonderful shows on a regular basis when he was 2. Fast forward 6 years and taking my daughter there when she was a toddler to feed the sting rays was a regular part of our week. Now in 2009 , my 2 years old’s first time going to the theme park to experience the whales, dolphins (her favorite), sharks and sting Rays has us visiting on a fairly regularly.

This year was also the first time we experienced Sea World’s Halloween Spooktacular and I was very impressed. This past Friday, my kids and I were invited to check out this Halloween tradition first hand, for a blogger day courtesy of Sea World. We were given admission to the park, goody bags and the ability to experience this fun time first hand. My kids were thrilled. My toddler was immediately excited to see fishes and and sea creatures on stilts. She got busy right away chasing the bubbles that were blowing around and laughing when she popped one.

Fish and More
Not my daughter

From pumpkin fishes to friendly sea witches, Halloween meets the sea this October during SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular, carving an underwater “fantasea” where children can dance with an ice DJ, play with sea fairies and learn from a school of fish.

New this year, trick-or-treaters can help Sesame Street’s Abby Caddaby search for her magic wand. Filled with interactive puzzles, sights and sounds, Abby Cadabby’s Halloween Adventure is a 4,000-square-foot outdoor pathway that the entire family can enjoy.  Plus, Abby Caddaby will visit for added smiles, photographs, and hugs throughout the day.*

We got out our treasure maps and followed the path to enjoy a cookie decorating station, where my tween and toddler, stopped and made there cookies into a pumpkin and a big blob. They had so much fun. I think that was my tweens favorite, but my toddlers favorite was the trick or treating she could do throughout that path. This is her first Halloween that she understands a  little of the holiday and she had a blast. I had her in her Fairy costume, and my tween was dressed up in her pirate girl costume.

We even stopped at the Frozen Fun Zone to listen to some music while we watched my youngest shake her hips to the music, so many people stopped and complimented her on her great dancing. She was running around, dancing and laughing and I was so happy to see her smiling and having fun! But I saved the best for last!

Abby Cadabby Area

Not my girls

Abby Cadabby’s Halloween Adventure maze. Oh my toddler loved this!!!! And she was super excited to meet Abby herself at the end of the maze, where we stopped to get a picture. And my Abby spent the rest of the day telling anyone who would listen that she saw Abby Cadabby! We actually went through the maze twice so she could play with all the interactive areas of the maze. Shortly thereafter she passed out from all the excitement while I took the older kids over to the ride areas. We all had a great time!

A special thank you to Sea World for inviting my kids and I for a day of new experiences and fun. I appreciate all the warmth and hospitality that we received and we really enjoyed our time there. I am happy that Sea World has been a part of our lives and will continue to be so. And don’t worry if you missed this year’s Halloween Spooktacular, you have time to plan to go to next year’s! And now, these are my girls…
