This entry in the Christmas Giveaway is an amazing product! The Seagate FreeAgent Xtreme External Hard Drive.

I’ve backed up everything on CDs (all my photos too). Now it’s too much trouble to find them so they just stay “saved in a safe place”. I could really use this hard drive to put everything in one place.

I would LOVE to have this to move all of my photos (I take about 400 photos of my kids and nephews a month on average…my camera is always with me lol), my videos of their games/plays, and all of my scrapbooking stuff (we are talking hardcore digiscrapping here
)…I also have a couple thousand photos that I have scanned from our grandparents, great grandparents, and great aunts of our ancestors that could use a “safe” home off of my internal hard drive!

I mainly use a laptop and would love to have backup storage so in case anything crashes- remember the Sex and the City where Carrie did not back up—oh noes

I am a grandmother to nine beautiful children. We have 4 children, many neices and nephews, sisters and brothers, in-laws, my parents, tons of friends and 9 wonderful little dachshunds. My boyfriend’s computer recently crashed, and he lost EVERYTHING–all of his undergraduate research and work, the whole thing. Ever since then, I’ve been looking into safe ways to store all of my photos, writing, videos, etc. This would be a blessing, thanks so much for the giveaway.

About 6 months ago, I had a hard drive crash and had an extremely large amount of music and video that was competely lost in it. Storage like this would definately be a godsend cause than I wont have to worry about having enough space for backing up my data!

I need this so I can save: photo’s, music, personal financial files, medical articles I find interesting, Continuing Education Credits, Free Craft PDF downloads that certain sites let you download and keep. I need it especially for Arts and Craft, you should see how many things I have printed out and saved, because I didn’t want them using up the computer space we have. I did save alot of stuff on my computer before, but it slowed it down, so I deleted and lost alot of craft, art, embroidery, quilting, sewing free downloads I was allowed to save by certain sites. Now I wish I would have kept them, because many of them are no longer offered, or the sites have moved, etc…

I’m terrified of a hard drive crash, but like someone else mentioned, once you back up something onto a CD, it’s often hard to find it again. I’d really love to have this, especially because I have home movies, lots of digital photos, and my graphic design portfolio, which take up a lot of drive space.

I would like to win this because my daughter needs one. She is in college, and is always doing projects on the computers at school, which she has to save on one of these to bring home. Right now she uses one that is cracked, and it will probably break all the way soon. Thanks!

Well, biggest reason would be a place to backup pictures, videos, etc. It would also be cool to take this along on trips so we can load new content on the drive and bring it back home. Add in easier sharing for relatives if we have something they want and it’s a good deal all around.

Oh, boy, do I need one of these! We’ve been backing everything up on CDs, but I’ve been eyeing an external harddrive since last X-mas. I want it especially to preserve all the pic’s we’ve taken of our daughter.

My husband just finished telling me that the best way to store all of my pictures and videos of our first born is on an external hard drive! Count me in!
I’d love to use this to store my family photos and my lossless music archive!
We have a small network of computers and laptops at home that all need to get backed up. This looks to be fairly easy to network in which we really need.

I’d like to win for the exact same reason you liked this – preserving pictures, videos and my husband’s blog. Plus, my husband is a writer and I’m always worried we’re going to lose all of his stuff.
OOOOOOH!!!! This is the #1 one thing on my “wish list” (an external). I have a home business and I have A LOT of graphics (and I do mean A LOT!). I’m also a freelance writer and photographer and I store all my pictures and articles on my computer and I’m running out of space. My burner is broken on my desk top (where everything is) and I have no way of backing up what is on there. I have to take my 1 gig flash drive and move things from the desk top to the lap top to burn them and it takes FOREVER to do, especially considering that I have about 150 gigs worth of stuff to back up.

Just what everyone needs to backup their computer!
One reason why I’d like to win this external hard drive – there are many reasons. I could back up all the pictures of my grandkids, family get togethers, trips, etc. I like to buy and download games, but they take up so much space on my computer that it makes the computer run slow. Just think if I could store them on an external hard drive! I’d feel better if the family history I’m writing was stored on an external hard drive. And my book reading journal, book lists, etc.

My current hard drive is 180G and I drool at the thought of some decent hard drive space. We are in the process of converting some old family files and it’s slow, slow going with the limited space that’s available.

Why? Because I have been unfortunate enough to lose everything when my computer had a power surge. It wasn’t just any power surge, guys working in my yard with a backhoe ripped my main electric line in half! Even though I had a UPS, it blew right through that and fried my computer, along with lots of other appliances. Its devastating to lose everything with no hope of replacing it. My computer, while still speedy, is woefully out of disk storage. Baby is due in 3 weeks and we need more room for digital memories
My husband and I live in North Orange County and realized this weekend with all the fires that we should really back up all of our stuff on external hard drives so if we have to evacuate (in the future) we can just grab them and be worry free about our information, photos, etc.
We are expecting our first child and need somewhere to keep all of the pictures that will be taken!!

I’m a graphic designer, and if my harddrive crashes I’m SOL.
I’m a scrapbooker. I have all my pics in my pc and I can’t fit anymore. I don’t have the extra cash to update my pc, so I would love to win this to safe guard my pictures.
We want to get a new computer in the near future (ours is now ancient) and we could really use this to transfer data. I love external hard drives because they eliminate a lot of the hassle we used to have to deal when considering new computers.
Plus, I take TONS of photos and keeping them on the hard drive really slows the machine. I’d much rather keep them on an external hard drive.

This is something that I could certainly put to use. I have a smaller external drive now so when I do a backup I have to pick and choose what is really important and I know first hand how awful it feels to loose something that’s important when your computer starts acting up. Some things you just can’t replace. This would give me the ability to back up everything on my computer and not have to worry about space. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful thing?

Terabyte External Hard Drive is an extra storage space that I need for all of my “stuff”.
I have a dying laptop, and I need to save all my files before they are gone forever! Some of my files are research, so they are very important!

Well, I just had to rescue a ton of my husband’s files when his computer crashed. Backing up…what a novel idea. The Seagate would make it a snap.
I need the storage space.
My work and home computers are both running a bit sluggishly, so I would love to “free up” some space on them by moving lots of “stuff” to an external hard drive. It would certainly improve my mood if I didn’t have to spend half of every day staring at that little hourglass spinning around!

I share a computer with my son and I am always afraid to delete anything for fear it would be an irreversible blunder … (we chiseled on little stone tablets when I was in school).

I would love to have one of these to make certain that I never lose my precious photographs and music. So many of friends lost their computers during Hurriane Katrina and didn’t have them stored on an external drive. This taught me a lesson to back important work up.

I’m a photographer and graphic artist, and my poor small hard drive takes a beating. I have already lost one thumb drive, a cable for my poor hard drive and desperately need a new large hard drive. I literally lose sleep some nights worrying that one day I am going to lose so much of my hard work, and heart and soul that I put into creating my artwork! But, with 3 young children who need to come first, our spending money on something like this Seagate always seems to go on the back burner so to speak! I can’t backup my stuff on my computer now because for some reason it replicates itself and eats up space…so I would like to apply the Seagate “backup” with a new computer that I have to buy.

I really need this. I got my first ever digital camera in May, and have 2 adorable granddaughters that I love to photograph them. I have many pictures, and need to store them on an external hard drive so they don’t get lost if my pc crashes!
With a preteen and a teen still at home they have music, pictures, homework, essays and alot of games that are bogging down our pc, with this awesome prize we could store most files on that and lessen the chance to have our pc overloaded and crash. We recently very nearly lost everything … and when you ahve a 10 meg pixel camera and shoot weddings on the side, that was a major crisis. Fortunately, we were able to recover, but a 1 TB back-up system would have made the heart ache nonexistent.
I don’t have a backup drive and I have already lost too much because I don’t. Great giveaway

Well, we had a disaster where we lost a lot of pictures from my first child. I would not want that to happen again so I would use it to store pictures!
