Item Given Away: Slob Proof! Real-Life Design Solutions book
Start Date: March 19
End Date: April 2

Got a slob in your house? A spouse, kids, a pet? Or maybe, it’s you! Stop struggling to keep your home looking good – let Debbie Wiener show you how to decorate so your home stands up to whatever life throws at it: dirty shoes and muddy paws, sticky hands and liquid spills, garden debris and much more.

In Slob Proof! You’ll discover that you don’t have to sacrifice style and comfort for more practical concerns. Learn how:

  • Decorate for the way you really live – not the way you would like to live.
  • Spend money wisely on pieces that wear and clean well.
  • Make color your friend. If you have got kids or a black Lab, white upholstery is not an option – and beige carpeting is on the endangered list, too.
  • Choose flooring carefully. If you think your family belongs in an institution, try institutional carpet!

Debbie Wiener is a strong advocate for the cleaning-impaired and the decorating- challenged and the owner of Designing Solutions, a full service interior-design firm specializing in durable, cleanable, family-friendly interiors with personality, comfort and value. Her work and down-to-earth design advice are regularly featured in national and local newspapers, magazines, television and radio. She resides in Silver Spring, Maryland, with her husband, a self-described slob, and two sons, ages 12 and 17.

My Thoughts

Slob Proof! has helped me in my home make over endeavors and I can’t be happier with the tips and tricks that I will be using. From window treatments to lighting fixtures to color schemes this book has the ideas and tips to spur on your creativity. One thing that I really learned from Slob Proof! is that I need to decorate how I actually live and not how I want to live. That means that I don’t make the dining room perfect, it needs to be used and enjoyed! I love the information I got from reading through this book and I recommend it to everyone.

I have been offered the chance to host a giveaway so one lucky Dirty Shirt reader can learn the tips and tricks that I have learned. Please see rules below to win your copy today!
