Item Reviewed: Philadelphia Cream Cheese recipe

I recently tried out a wonderful recipe that quite honestly I would have never tried because mixing Philadelphia Cream Cheese with Spaghetti Sauce never crossed my mind. I use it in so many other recipes so when I heard about this one I just had to give it a try. Well, it was delicious! My family raved about it, and to let you in on a little secret I didn’t tell them what I used, I wanted to see if they could tell, and all they knew was it was good! Of course when I told them that I put Philadelphia Cream Cheese in it they were amazed that it added so much flavor. My daughter really liked it and asked me to make it every day. You should give it a try, your family will thank you!

Spaghetti a la Philly

Prep: 20 minutes
Cook: 15 minutes
Makes: 4 servings (about 1 1/2 cups each)

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) Prego® Traditional Italian Sauce
  • 1/2 package (4 ounces) Kraft Philadelphia cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 package (8 ounces) spaghetti, cooked and drained
  • 2 tablespoons Kraft grated Parmesan cheese
  1. Cook the beef in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until well browned, stirring often to separate meat.  Pour off any fat.
  2. Stir the sauce and cream cheese in the skillet.  Reduce the heat to low. Cook for 3 minutes or until the cream cheese is melted, stirring often.
  3. Place the spaghetti into a large bowl.  Add the beef mixture and toss to coat. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese.

This is a quick and easy recipe, and it was a hit with the family. I did add Red Pepper Flakes but that is because my family likes things a little spicier than normal. This is definitely one recipe that I will keep on my family menu and I am actually going to be making it for a dinner party soon because I know my family and friends that will be attending are going to like it just as much as we do. If they do, I will make sure to pass the recipe on to them as well. Ten thumbs up from my family!

Philadelphia Cream Cheese reached out to me and provided me with coupons and a cookbook for my participation.
