About Fell Swoop:
We began with a few shirts on a table at a Farmer’s Market out here in Montana. Thanks to you, we’re now spreading our positive message – and our sustainable products – across the country.
Our newest designs feature species that are particularly important to us in the West: the American bison, the grey wolf, and the grizzly bear. Humans have encroached on their habitat and threatened their survival, but dedicated conservation efforts are helping them recover. You can spot all three of them just an hour and a half from us in Yellowstone National Park.
Sometimes today’s environmental challenges can seem overwhelming. But we think that the difficulties facing us are actually opportunities in disguise. We live on a wonderful, resilient planet, and by adopting renewable energy technologies and adapting our lifestyles then we can lead a global green revolution (and with our shirts, be stylish too!).
Swell Foop promotes a positive, playful message about caring for our environment. With a playful name and designs that feature rare animals and taglines that encourage positive environmental awareness, Swell Foop has created a force for positive thinking about global warming that has resonated with Americans frustrated by the politicized, negative spin surrounding the issue.
“We believe the threat of global warming is actually an opportunity,” says co-founder Anne Sherwood. “We can all make little differences that add up and make our country stronger.”
So if you are looking for unique gift ideas this holiday season, please put Swell Foop on your list of shopping places. They are a great company with great products and would make great Christmas gifts. While they hope that each one of the shirts that they sell becomes a Billboard for Change – if a shirt reminds someone they need to swap our their lightbulbs for CFLs, they’ll consider that a success – their donation of 10% of proceeds to non-profits that benefit the environment is essential to what they do. They currently support the following groups:
- The Earth Island Institute (EII), founded in 1982 by veteran environmentalist David Brower, fosters the efforts of creative individuals by providing organizational support in developing projects for the conservation, preservation, and restoration of the global environment. EII provides activists the freedom to develop program ideas, supported by services to help them pursue those ideas, with a minimum of bureaucracy.
- For almost 30 years, American Wildlands has fought to protect wild America throughout the western states. They seek the protection for the West’s wild places and advocate for the careful management of its natural resources. AWL keeps the world-renowned U.S. Northern Rockies ecologically intact by restoring and maintaining connections between key habitats for healthy populations of native fish and wildlife.

This was great! I’ve been trying to really eco-friendly my lifestyle a little bit at a time and I hadn’t heard about this yet! Very excited to give my first green christmas present! Thanks!
