T-Mobile G1

After recently having the opportunity to review a T-Mobile G1, I have to say I am impressed. This phone is amazing, especially for my texting capabilities, seeing as I need a full qwerty keyboard. The amount of pluses the G1 has is endless, and although I had a bit of trouble with connection at a major theme park, I have nothing but good things to say about this phone. Here are the specs and what I think of each one:

Touch Screen: (I love the ease of use of the G1, tapping and dragging things sure makes it a lot easier to get around)

  • Tap the screen and go
  • Instant access to key information

QWERTY Keyboard: (very important to me as I text A LOT! And the trackball on the G1 is sheer genius! Makes everything a lot easier and makes me wish I had one on everything)

  • Type messages easily

One-Touch Google Search: (used this so any times that I lost count, very convenient being one touch!)

  • Search the Internet in one click

Real Web Browsing: (using the G1 with its full QWERTY keyboard and trackball I felt like I was at my computer at home surfing the internet not on a phone)

  • Access in one touch
  • Real Web, not mobile version

Easy Access to Google Apps: (Having all my Google products tied into my phone was awesome. I loved that I could go between all of my aps with one touch) One-touch access to:

  • Google Maps (My Location, satellite, traffic and Street View)(I LOVE the My Location feature that let’s me know where I am with built-in compass on the phone, a first in the industry, that lets me view locations and navigate 360 degrees by simply moving my hand.)
  • Gmail
  • YouTube
  • Google Calendar
  • Google Talk

3G Network and Wi-Fi Access: (Again I did have a bit of a problem with this at a major theme park but not sure whose end the problem was on. Other than that the phone’s Wi-Fi worked fine)

  • High-speed 3G network
  • Connect to open Wi-Fi networks automatically
  • Also works on 2G and EDGE networks

G1 QWERTY keyboard

Features Included in the T-Mobile G1™
IM/Text/E-mail: (This is a very important feature to me and I was thrilled at how seamlessly it worked for all my email accounts)

  • Connect while you’re on the go
  • Access additional e-mail accounts (Hotmail, Yahoo!, etc.)

3.2 Megapixel Camera: (Photos taken with the G1 were great photos, I have seen better with other T-mobile phones, but with all the pluses the G1 offers I can overlook this. And really 3.2 megapixels is great for a cell phone)

  • High-quality photos
  • Autofocus

YouTube Videos: (I am sadly not that in to YouTube so this is really no biggy to me but my son got a kick out of it and loved it on the G1)

  • Millions of videos
  • Access anywhere

Music Player: (I love the fact that a phone can play music and the expandable storage on the G1 makes this a very good music player)

  • 1GB memory card included
  • Expandable to 8GB

Android Market: (Love this as I gotta have my Twitter and with the alerts set up you will never miss a thing)

  • One-touch access
  • Games, social networking, on-the-go shopping and more
  • Download wirelessly

Customizable Home Screen: (I had so much fun playing with this feature. From constantly changing the backgrounds to placing which application is most important to me at the time front and center on the G1, the possibilities are endless and are as unique as you are)

  • Drag and drop your favorite applications, photos or folders

All in all the T-Mobile G1 phone is a great all around phone. For those that need to be connected in every way imaginable, this is the phone for you. I definitely recommend this phone to everyone!

I couldn’t agree more. I had the opportunity to test the G1 phone and really liked it. I feel like nobody tries anything other than iPhone lately but this cell phone is definitely a treat!
