RECARO has been around for over 100 years and actually started out as a body factory that made bodies for cars like the Porsche 356, VW Beetle and the BMW 328. Below is their history…

RECARO is founded by the master saddler Wilhelm Reutter in Germany

RECARO introduced the first seat with integrated seat belt

Introduction of the first racing shell with head protection

RECARO strengthens its newest field of business, “child seating” by taking over the German traditional company “Storchenmuehle”

The lightest serially-produced seat in the world at that time was brought onto the market as the carbon shell seat of the Porsche Carrera GT

RECARO decided to move beyond automotive OEM seating, automotive Aftermarket seating, and Motorsports seating into the market of Child restraints for the United States

The end result is a line of child restraints which the children love the comfort of and parents love the safety

I recently received a Young Sport car seat from RECARO’s line to review and I noticed one thing right away the first time I put my daughter into it. I felt that without a doubt that she was safe, I can’t say that I felt this way with the other car seat she had or about any of the seats that I have used for my children. Now, I am not saying they aren’t safe, I am just saying I didn’t walk away with a feeling of safeness that I did with RECARO.

These are all the reasons why I love this seat:

It fits a toddler all the way through 12 years. From 20 – 80 lbs. and up to 59 inches.

It has side impact protection (love this feature, it also helps your child to be more comfortable when they fall asleep, their head doesn’t flop around).

5-point harness up to 40 lbs.

Adjustable headrest

Recline position

Adjustable harness

Microfiber cover (spills come out much easier)

removable comfort cushion

I will say for me this car seat is the Porsche of all car seats, it is durable, classy, sturdy, strong and above all else, it is safe, and again makes me really feel that my daughter is 100% safe in the car. Now I don’t know this for fact, because my daughter can’t put the words “This is one comfortable car seat Mom” together yet but it is a very comfortable looking seat and I would actually like to have the drivers seat made to be just like this REACARO Young Sport.

One of the pluses for me that was a big step up from her last seat was the padding on the belt for her shoulders. I am sure that is more comfortable for her.

(I was not finished getting her in when the picture was taken, so the belt is not on correctly, I did fix it before we left)

I give the Young Sport by RECARO very high marks and recommend it to everyone. I love the seat and love that I feel completely at ease now driving with my daughter in the car.
