Dirty Shirty started as gear for bands in Atlanta to wear so they would stand out from other bands when on tour. The tee’s got such a great response that the demand for Dirty gear was better than for the bands merch at shows. The Dirty Shirty site was then created and has since been the place for skaters, rockers and the online generation to get cool t-shirts from.

The styles and theme’s stay true to the old school tee’s of the 80’s and not going with that “get as many colors on a tee we can get” a lot of designers are doing. They treat their customers like fans. This goes back to the band backgrounds Dirty Shirty came from being ex musicians.

Their Myspace profile continues to grow with over 625,000 friends and receives over 3 million views each year. That is promotion you can’t buy! That popularity led to Hot Topic stores carrying and selling out of Dirty Shirty in 2008 and even more shirts carried by Hot Topic now. Peta has also requested a one of a kind tee that will be released on the Peta2 site in 2010. More exposure! Their gear has been seen on The Used, VH1′s Rock of Love, Charm School and Daisy of Love, Sunset Tan, WWE wrestlers, MTVs Real World and many pro skaters.

My Thoughts

With vintage style shirts for men and women you will be taken back to the 80′s in style. Comics like Woody Woodpecker (shown above) and Ziggy to TV stars like Shaun Cassidy, who I used to have plastered all over my wall, you will find shirts that will bring back memories. Needless to say I was thrilled to have found this Shaun Cassidy shirt.

But one shirt, one that I got to review, sticks out the most to me. The Dirty Shirty “Dirty” shirt. It is funny, the Dirty Shirty on The Dirty Shirt, and the shirt has meaning for me. Not only is it my favorite color but it is a very comfortable shirt. I have had a few people ask me where I got it and I was happy to point them in the direction of the Dirty Shirty.
