TI-Nspire

The latest TI math and science learning technology features the TI-Nspire family of products and services. This technology goes beyond graphing to help students see math and science in new and different ways.

TI-Nspire and TI-Nspire CAS technology was developed hand-in-hand with educators worldwide and built on proven graphing technology which research* shows has a positive impact on student achievement. This exciting learning technology offers both handhelds and computer software for the flexibility to meet different classroom needs.

Permitted on SAT, ACT, AP, PSAT/NSMQT, IB and Praxis exams, as well as many state tests.**

Some unique features of TI-Nspire technology let you:

  • View multiple representations of a problem on a single screen
  • Grab a graphed function and move it to see the effect
  • “Link” representations: Manipulate the properties of one and observe instant updates to others without switching screens
  • Create, save and review work in electronic documents, like a computer
  • Activate the handheld’s Press-to-Test feature to block access to certain geometry features not allowed on state exams
  • Experience identical functions on the handheld and TI-Nspire Computer Software (Windows© or Mac©). Your students can use the software independently or in tandem with the handheld for work in and out of class
  • Project a full interactive handheld alongside a large handheld screen to demonstrate concepts to your class usingTI-Nspire Computer Software – Teacher Edition

TI supports the passion that educators possess for teaching with technology designed to help students succeed in math and science. TI’s research-based* technology for instruction and assessment, curricular materials and professional development combine to provide essential elements for greater student achievement.

The TI-Nspire  is now one of the most important tools that my son uses in his schooling. The power behind this particular product allows him to do things that he wasn’t able to do before, which in turn allows him to work on his math assignments and answer correctly. But what’s more, he can see his steps clearly now, and realizes sooner when he makes an error in figuring the problem out.

With its computer like features he has the ability to grab objects, split the screen, enter text easier, and generally has easier navigation, so he spends less time trying to figure how to work the machine and more time doing his work. He has been so happy to have this and has more than once come to me to say, “Mom, this calculator rocks!”. And if he is happy, then I am happy. I am just glad that it has helped him with his Trigonometry work. And I am so thankful for that because that stuff is even over my head!

TI-84 Keyboard

It even comes with the TI-84 Keypad to gain added help in the following:

  • Cabri Jr.
  • Inequalities Graphing
  • LearningCheck
  • Periodic Table
  • Probability Simulations
  • Science Tools
  • StudyCards
  • Transformation Graphing
  • Vernier EasyData

I highly recommend the TI-Nspire to all those who have students in middle or high school, it is such a great help to them and it has really turned my son around in his math class. And the best thing about it is they can use the TI-Nspire on the SAT and ACT tests.

This post was written as part of a program for Family Review Network and Texas Instruments, who supplied the product for review.

  1. Isn’t it awesome! I had the chance to review it last year and my boys NEED this thing. So glad they have it and it’s totally worth the money.

I am so excited to hear such positive comments about this awesome handheld calculator (computer).
As a math teacher of 35 years, I whole heartedly recommend it for teachers and students. Because of the document capabilities, my students get tutorials, extra explained examples, electronic flash cards, reviews, interactive lessons — which buys me class time and individualizes instruction. And the students love it.
