Windows 8 on the Acer Aspire S7
Have you ever seen a more beautiful computer? Oh my word this baby is the smoothest thing I have ever seen and it is not only beautiful but it is also lightning fast! But aside from the thinness and the sleekness is something that I have been waiting a long time for…to try out Windows 8. I waited until I had a product in hand that allowed me to see (and touch) all the benefits that using Windows 8 brought. And I can tell you that although the wait was long it was totally worth it!
When I first started up there was so much to explore and learn. Funny thing is because everything else I use is touch screen it was easy to just start using it the way it was meant to be used, however when I go to my daughters computer I do now find myself touch her screen wondering why it isn’t working But back to my screen, I have spent hours downloading apps, arranging them and then rearranging them. I am absolutely impressed with the amount of personalization and customization I have power over with Windows 8. I could go on forever talking about my home screen and how I change it on a weekly basis but I will devote a whole separate post to that. On to the next thing!
One of my favorite places to go is the People Hub, which collects all my friends from social networking sites and puts them in one place. Now, that is a lot of people to scroll through but in Windows 8 I can make my favorite people special and pin them to my favorites, that way instead of scrolling through everyone I can at a glance see their tiles and click them to see what their latest posts on Facebook or LinkedIn are. Love that I can quickly see just their updates.
Windows 8 is great and there is still so much for me to explore and that is exactly what I will be doing with my spare time, I want to get to know Windows 8 from the inside out and I want to share it all with you. Please stay tuned as I kick off another year as a Windows Champion and bring the best of Windows to everyone!
