Peppermint (Mentha piperita) has a strong, clean, fresh, minty aroma. One of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion, it may also restore digestive efficiency.* Jean Valnet MD studied peppermint’s supportive effect on the liver and respiratory systems. Other scientists have also researched peppermint’s role in improving taste and smell when inhaled. Dr. William N. Dember of the University of Cincinnati studied peppermint’s ability to improve concentration and mental sharpness. Alan Hirsch MD studied peppermint’s ability to directly affect the brain’s satiety center, which triggers a sensation of fullness after meals. This powerful essential oil is often diluted before topical application. Peppermint may also be used to enhance the flavor of food and water.
How to use: For dietary, aromatic, or topical use. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid such as goat’s or rice milk.
Possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Dilution recommended for both topical and internal use. Do not apply neat to a fresh wound or burn. Dilute before using on sensitive areas such as the face, neck, genital area, etc. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid using on infants and very small children.
I have been given the opportunity to review a few of the essential oils in the line thanks to Jennifer Nordin. And today I bring you the review of the Peppermint oil.
Using the peppermint oil, which I love the smell of, has actually given me the ability to ease my headaches. When used topically and rubbed into my temples I am immediately more relaxed and am able to relax the muscles around my eyes and just let the soothing rub ease my head tension. I was really amazed at how well it works.* I even got the chance to try it out on a recent boat ride when I got a little bit of motion sickness. When I got back home and it hadn’t subsided yet I put a drop on my tongue and within 5 minutes it went away (thanks for the tip J
) I am pleased with this oil as well and I am very surprised the oils are working, as I didn’t hold too much to them in the past. Pleasantly surprised!

I love the smell of peppermint, very fresh and clean indeed! I didn’t know peppermint would be effective in curing motion sickness, that’s really handy. Having a small vial would be perfect when going on long distance trips. I’ll definitely keep this in mind! Thanks
