Zhu Zhu Pets | Hamster City | Party

My kids were super excited when I was contacted about hosting a Zhu Zhu Pets party. And we were all shocked by the box that later arrived filled with their new collection of the hamsters, that trust me are so much better than having the live ones!

Talk about pure excitement! My kids went to work immediately putting together the city and picking out which hamster would be theirs, and I had to step in and calm them down and remind them that it was for a party which we promptly chose a date for. My daughter couldn’t stop raving at how adorable the hamsters were.

Each Zhu Zhu Pets™ Hamster has its own unique personality and whimsical sounds!

• Loving Mode – Pet them, love them, hear them squeak and chatter
• Explore Mode – Let them scoot, scamper, bump & boogie across the floor or through their Hamster Habitat

And introducing the hamsters of the city:

• Chunk – The hamster that is famous for chillin’ out and laying low. A surfer dude througha and through.
• Pipsqueak – Sweet and small and afraid of nothing. A daredevil who loves to play.
• Squiggles – He’s been there and done that and is still around to tell about it. Don’t call him cute.
• Numnums – A cutie who you can depend on for laughs and love.

The morning of the Zhu Zhu Pets party arrived and my daughter was jumping off the walls counting down the hours until her friends arrived. We had the city set up and as they arrived we let the guests choose their own hamster, and sent them to the table. They played for at least an hour before we had a race to see whose hamster had what it took to cross the finish line first. We were all cracking up because during the first round none of them ended up going in the direction where the finish line was. After the second round we had a winner, who got a special piece of the hamster city.

After  awhile the kids got tired of standing to play with it so they put the city on the floor and played with it until they went to sleep (it was a sleepover too). The next morning the girls woke up and carried it out to the living room with them. I had to laugh because kids will keep playing even when they have been up all night. And they had so much fun watching their hamsters run around. So much better than the real thing I say.

One of my favorite things in life is a child’s laughter and I was very pleased that my home was filled with it for a day. It reminded me of when I was little and got excited about new toys. I had fun hosting this party for my daughter and her friends and my daughter said, “Thanks mom, that party rocked! Now for the next one…” She is very thankful for the opportunity too.
