Zicam | Cold Remedy | Review and Giveaway

December 5, 2009 by

Colds can last up to two weeks, but zinc products, like Zicam Cold Remedy, can help shorten the length of the cold itself, not just mask its symptoms. Zicam Cold Remedy reduces the duration and severity of the cold when taken as directed within the first 24 to 48 hours of symptom onset. We want to arm you and your family with our products so you can see for yourself how Zicam can help you get over your cold faster!

Cold Remedy Zavors

• Reduces the duration and severity of cold symptoms when taken at the first sign of a cold
• Crunchy shell with chewable center
• Non-drowsy, non-habit forming, no known drug interactions
• Homeopathic

Available Flavors: Cherry

Cold Remedy Plus Liqui-Loz

• Reduces the duration and severity of cold symptoms when taken at the first sign of a cold
• Throat soothing lozenge with tasty Liqui-Gel center
• Non-drowsy, non-habit forming, no known drug interactions
• Homeopathic

Available Flavors: Cherry

This cold and flu season is in full swing. We have had someone sick in our home for the last few weeks. It seems to be a cycle, and of course I always get it. I need to be on my toes as I am the caregiver of my kids when they are sick. At the first sign of the on set of a cold in anyone I use Zicam and have for awhile now. And of the two Zicam products I received to review, Zavors and Liqui-Loz, I have to say that the Liqui-Loz has been the most used. The cold we have now in the family comes with a nasty cough and I have been using these to ease the sore throat. The cherry flavored Liqui-Loz work well on that.

What to do to prepare for cold and flu season:

  1. Exercise, eat right, get 7-8 hours of sleep a night and take a daily multi-vitamin.
  2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth during cold and flu season, especially after being exposed to viruses or bacteria.
  3. Promote strong immune function by switching from coffee to tea, eating garlic liberally, and adding yogurt to your diet.  And use zinc products, such as Zicam oral Cold Remedy, within the first 24-48 hours of the onset of cold symptoms to reduce the duration and severity of your cold.
  4. Drink lots of water, which flushes toxins out of your body while re-hydrating your system.
  5. While studies show that exercising for at least 30 minutes several times a week can help you stay healthy, our immune system fights most effectively when it isn’t stressed. So listen to your body when you feel sick, as a hard workout could weaken your immune system temporarily and potentially make your illness worse.

I have two giveaway prize packs for my readers that contain these new products and money-saving coupons. Please see rules below to enter.

I am not a doctor and only speak of Zicam through my using the products, I recommend you always check with a doctor before taking a new medication. I was given the two products about to try out for myself and review here on my blog. No other compensation was given.

Probably 8 to 10 days. I have allergies and sometimes the allergies will run you down and you end up with a sinus infection or pick up a cold that is going around. Between the allergic issues and the cold, you feel like you’ve suffered for a month or more.
